Shotgun Samurai is a retro-style first/third-person over-the-shoulder shooter set in a gritty cyberpunk metropolis ruled by violent gangs, corrupt cops, and ruthless corporations. Players assume the role of Sato Ryoichi, a mercenary on a quest to restore his reputation and dismantle the city’s criminal syndicate.
As a key member of the development team at Bad Rhino Games, I led a small team for 2-3 months, overseeing the creation of a prototype demo. This included a fully playable level with a dynamic boss fight and the entire combat system, which we built from scratch. I contributed extensively by designing enemies, shaping the core combat mechanics, and handling level design and environmental dressing, ensuring the atmosphere reflected the dark, cyberpunk aesthetic.
